"I was almost falling into the dreaded Reading Slump when I picked up this book. Bye-bye slump! Behesians is a first for me as I have not read any books by Isaiyan Morrison before now. This book is extremely addictive. I enjoyed it to the fullest. I really liked Darrien.
I know this is a stand alone, but if there were to be more later on, I would totally read it."

Behesians eBook Isaiyan Morrison Masoumeh Tavakoli Reviews
- Iris was finding that it was all still new to her as she practiced her powers, learning how to harness the dark gift from the Tree of Life, able to talk to animals through her mind, and even use them as weapons. As a Behesian, they each had different gifts, some more destructive than others.
Cassidy was having dreams of a town that seemed familiar and yet not familiar. There was one main street. People were friendly and waved but didn’t talk. There was only fresh smells and a feeling of belonging and not wanting to leave. There was a beautiful woman there too. She never spoke, but they spent time together. She knew somehow that this was her mother, even though she died when Cassidy was a baby. Then, back in her “real†life, her sister Sara banged on the door and woke her to come down for her 17th birthday breakfast celebration. She hated her birthday, but it was a big deal to her father. Later, Sara would be taking Cassidy to a coffee shop she had found -- for her birthday.
At the coffee shop, there were no seats left except for a table with one guy sitting there. There was something odd about him. He felt familiar to her and she thought she had passed him when she walked down the road with her mother in her dream! He kept staring at her. Then the guy in line behind her asked if he had met her before. She seemed familiar to him. She got her latte and bagel order and went to the table where Sara sat with Elijah. Then the guy behind her followed her to the table and asked if he could sit with them! Darrien and Elijah were both from out of town. Strangely, Elijah said there were lots of strange things out in the world, like people with powers. What did that mean?? When Elijah rose to leave and shook hands with Cassidy, her entire palm tingled and Elijah’s cup burst into flames! Darrien left also, amazed that he had found the Behesian he had been searching for. He needed to notify the Brotherhood! Cassidy’s life will never be the same! Will she survive what’s coming? And who can she trust when she had lived a life of lies?
This was a real page-turner! It was difficult to know the good-guys from the bad-guys, or maybe if there were any good-guys at all! The story is fast-paced and intriguing. The characters are fascinating! Grab a copy of this book and immerse yourself in magic! It’s an exciting experience! - I was almost falling into the dreaded Reading Slump when I picked up this book. Bye-bye slump! Behesians is a first for me as I have not read any books by Isaiyan Morrison before now. This book is extremely addictive. I enjoyed it to the fullest. I really liked Darrien.
I know this is a stand alone, but if there were to be more later on, I would totally read it. - (Review with spoilers - I haven't read the other books in the series)
I liked it.
Cassidy had felt, her entire life, that she was different. She had dreams about a city, about her mother, that died giving birth to her. Or so she was told. She met a boy who told her the truth about her mother and about her. She was a Behesian, a person with magic, and her father, who she loved and respected all her life, only wanted to use her power.
I loved the worldbuilding.
I loved Darrien and Milan. They were friends and they grew apart because they didn't want the same, but at the end they both wanted to do the right thing.
I loved Iris.
I liked Elijah and Ava. But I didn't like he was so possessive sometimes with Cassidy. I didn't like that Ava had to die. And I disliked the romantic triangle.
I didn't like Cassidy. She found it hard to accept the truth, and I understand it. After all, she barely knew Elijah when he turned her world upside down. She didn't trust him at first and she talked with her sister, who denied everything he told her. But after seeing what he and others could do, she still turned to her sister.
I recommend it.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author, and this is my honest review. - 5 CRANKY STARS
This is the start of a sister series to this author’s Deamhan Chronicles but it can be read as a stand alone. Once I finished this book, I immediately wanted more so I read the other series. Only thing wrong with all of these books seems to be wrong with all ebooks- typo’s and need for better proofreading. I thought it was maybe the copy I had but the 5 book series is just as bad and its been out for a while.
Anyway, if you like stories of “humans†with superpowers, this book is for you. Behesians don’t consider themselves human even though that is how they look. Their powers are considered “dark†and are different for each individual. There is an organization that studies them but not every Behesian trusts this group.
Our heroine is a young girl, Cassidy. She lives with her father and stepsister. She knows nothing about magic or Behesians. A trip to a coffee shop on her birthday changes all that. In fact, it changes her life into a nightmare. The people she meets that night tear her life apart. One group hates her and the other group wants to use her. Worst of all are the truths she must accept about the lies her father and sister have told her. This is definitely a thriller and page turner. A true YA novel too.
