The Book of Gin A Spirited History from Alchemists' Stills and Colonial Outposts to Gin Palaces Bathtub Gin and Artisanal Cocktails eBook Richard Barnett Reviews

  • Saw this on the list of top 10 gin books. Great read so far! Tasty and easy recipes
  • It was a gift to my husband who reads many non-fiction books about history. He loved this book and found it interesting and educational. I feel he'll be talking about it at the next party.
  • Makes a good gift for your British or alcoholic friends!
  • This is a really great history of gin, the distillation process, and the history of gin in England.

I've been reading a few pages to my wife every morning after breakfast, and she loves it as well since she's more into history than I am.

The writer is very good as well, and really did his research. Some of the words in the book are really hard to pronounce when reading aloud, though, but we managed.

    I love martinis, too.
  • This book offers an entertaining history of gin. Its tasting notes in the back are also very interesting, and provide a meaningful vocabulary for describing and comparing the tastes of different gins.
  • I got this for my brother as a Christmas present and he LOVES this kit and really enjoyed making his own gin. I and he would highly recommend!
  • I bought this book as a gift for my husband. He loves gin and is making plans to try his hand and distilling his own. He loved this book, and it helped to inspire him even more!
  • This is a well-researched and easily-read book. I consider it a useful reference on the subject, and am glad I made the purchase.
