“I can’t cross that line with you, Ausha. It will change everything for us.” —Messiah

After walking away from a bad relationship, Ausha is convinced that she needs to be alone—until Messiah Deveroe, the friend she’s tried so hard not to love, tempts her in a way that she can’t forget.

Messiah knows that he’s trouble, and he’s not interested in changing his ways. He’ll give a woman whatever she wants, as long as it doesn’t involve his heart. But when his feelings for Ausha grow faster than he can control, Messiah is forced to deal with the painful reality of his past—a past that he’s tried so hard to run away from.

What happens when running is no longer an option? Will Messiah give in to his heart, and put the past behind him? Or will he fall back into old habits, and sabotage his future with the one woman he truly loves?

"I loved how Ausha and Messiah came together. They each had baggage as most relationships do. The characters were strong but vulnerable too. I especially loved Sole’. She did not play nor did she take any bs. Her story needs to be told AC!"

  • I love how Messiah and Ausha built a friendship before they even thought about starting a relationship. Messiah was there for her whenever she needed him even though he tried to hide his feelings for her. They helped each other heal from past wounds and strengthened their relationship all the more. Regardless of what Deshawn told Ausha, he still apparently had feelings for Porsha. I hope Messiah and Ausha do get married and have a Messiah Jr. I can't wait to see what happens next with Channing and Sole and find out the who the married man was who Sole had an affair with.
  • Loved this story, Ausha and Messiah. Messiah had a lot of guilt and angry dealing with his sister's death. He blamed himself. His way of dealing was to engage in meaningless relationships. His and Ausha had always been good friends, they could talk about anything. Ausha also had relationships issues. But somewhere along the way they friend relationship turned into something more. Really good how they both worked through their issues so they could have a healthy relationship. Message to the author, please do a story on each of Ausha's sisters, Sole', Elaina, and Messiah's brother Channing.
  • I loved Ausha and Messiah as a couple. They were drawn to each other from their first meeting. Messiah would do anything for Ausha. All she had to do was ask. I do believe that Ausha should have broken things off with Deshawn sooner if she knew he wanted to get married and she didn't. Messiah was a whole mess. I'm glad he figured things out and realized he belonged with Ausha. Dr Carlisle was a mess and a trip. I'm glad she was put in her place. I also loved that Lialeh character, she was cool. It was so awesome! Thank you AC! It means a lot to me to be thought of!
  • Ausha and Messiah started off as friends despite the chemistry they were feeling for one another. They both had a lot of baggage from their past that cause them to have failed relationships with other people. Through all of the hurt and pain of their past, the question that needs to be answered is, "Are the feelings that they have worth them taking a chance on one another"?
This is a great page turner. As always, this author did not disappoint. I cant wait to see what happens with Channing and Sole'.
  • I enjoyed this book . Both Ausha and Messiah drove me crazy though . Ausha not wanting to be with her boyfriend and nor being honest with him and Messiah not being honest with her . It all drove me batty. Loved that it touched on knowing you have a problem and seeking therapy . Still didn't get Meshelle 's reason for infidelity . Great story . Where is Sole ' s story ?
  • Great read! Really enjoyed this story and that we got to see the relationship in action! So many books end as soon as the couple figures it out and gets together, so I loved that we got to see them together and then get through something! Well done, Ms. Taylor!
  • I loved Messiah and Ausha’s journey! It was so real and authentic and it felt like I was reading about people I’ve known for years. Can’t wait to see what’s next for these characters
