Case for Christ for Kids Case for Series for Kids Lee Strobel Robert Suggs Robert Elmer 9780310719908 Books Reviews

  • I am 10 years old and just finished reading this book. It was logical and easy to understand. It convinced me that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead. It proved that everyone can have eternal life by believing in Jesus.
  • Strobel goes well beyond the classic "liar, lunatic, Lord" trilemma made famous by C.S. Lewis. Each chapter summarizes an interview with an "expert witness" in a different area of possible objection to Christianity. Easy to read, yet thorough and detailed. Each chapter ends with discussion questions and suggestions for further reading, so this book could easily be used for a study group or course.
  • I read this originally in my mid-20's after, just a few years prior, arriving at the same conclusion. The challenge was the availability of pop-level reinforcements for a "reasonable" faith. This book equipped my growing understanding and gave me ammo and confidence to, in turn, help me lead the student ministry, of which I was the pastor, without reservation or doubts and without "checking my brain at the door" when it came to my faith or the semi-cynical and inquisitive nature of millennial teenagers.

As I read this afresh over this last month, spurred on by the upcoming movie, I felt like I was able to visit an "old altar". It's also a truly beautiful thing to witness the fame and influence of Lee as well as those he interviewed. It's humbling to see them reflect that glory up to the One who they so brilliantly defend.

Thanks again so much for this true gem of a resource.
  • Informative and methodical approach towards collecting relevant sourcing to support the claim that Jesus Christ is the one true resurrected son of God. Nailed it, quite literally.
  • This was a great read as Lee Strobel walks you through the investigation of Jesus Christ. Lee does not play favorites and his tenacity is of investigative reporter with a legal background. His systematically interviews community acknowledged experts on every aspect of Jesus Christ. It is informative, inspirational, and thought provoking. I enjoyed it immensely!
  • Strobel neglects to mention that most of the historians he claims wrote of Jesus only wrote of Christians (never Jesus of Nazareth), and are loaded with forgeries from Christians who had altered the text (specifically Josephus).
  • We used this book and the study guide for a Bible study group. I did not find the guide to be as useful as the book itself and did not like that the guide skipped over some chapters that were in the book. The book I found to be very thought-provoking. I tried to see it from the eyes of a non-believer. Read with an open mind and an open heart, it made me examine what I believe and why, whether or not those beliefs were biblically-founded and historically-validated or just assumptions and misconceptions that had been perpetuated. This book is definitely helpful for new Christians who may skeptical or really any Christian who may be struggling with doubts or unbelief.
  • Awesome book for kids explaining the principles of the New Testament in a way they can understand and enjoy reading. My 9 year old son really enjoyed it.
